Jennifer Geary

The Reverend Jennifer Geary grew up on a dairy farm in Westhampton, Massachusetts where she was active in church, school and community groups. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and Westfield State, graduating with a degree in Biology. She spent several years working as a Substitute Teacher and Coach.

Jennifer began her call to professional ministry as the Director of Education at Old First Church in Springfield. She then attended Lancaster Theological Seminary graduating with a Master of Divinity and was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 1995. She served her first parish in Morristown, VT as a full-time settled pastor for eight years. Jennifer spent the next ten years as an Interim Pastor serving seven churches for various lengths of time. During this time, Jennifer also worked as a Nursing Assistant & Substitute teacher.

For seven years, Jennifer served as the Director of Irons Homestead, the Outdoor Ministry site for the Historic Rhode Island Conference UCC. Jennifer returned to Interim Ministry in May of 2020, serving the churches in Millis and Upton, MA. Caring for those on the margins, Jennifer has worked with the RI State Council of Churches advocating at the RI State House. She enjoys gardening, history, running and all kinds of play.

Bud, Jennifer’s husband of 40+ years, is the Director of Maintenance at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat in Glocester, RI.  They have three children, living in CT, MA & VT, and four grandchildren.  Jennifer and Bud currently reside in Woonsocket, RI where they are renovating a 130+ year-old house.
