The concert will also be livestreamed. \n1200 Horsehairs is a band of four cellos playing popular and new music ranging from traditional to metal to modern original compositions. Its members\, Dave Haughey\, Pablo Issa\, Karl Knapp\, and Wayne Smith\, are internationally active cellists who have played with the likes of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra\, The Paul Winter Consort\, Eugene Friesen\, and the Moody Blues\, among others. This beautiful worship service combines readings from the King James Version of the Bible with carols and anthems sung by both the choir and the congregation. The Lessons and Carols format was begun in 1880 at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall\, England\, and it has continued since 1918 at King’s College\, Cambridge.\n\nOf particular interest in this year’s service is a new setting of “There is No Rose” by British composer Philip Stopford\, who has become a favorite of the Edwards Church Choir. Theresa Thompson is a powerhouse gospel-singer who has been the vocalist of the Paul Winter Consort for many years\, as well as a collaborator with Pete Seger\, John Rutter\, Dream Theatre\, and many others. Joel A. Martin is not only the creator of the Jazzical series\, but has performed with Cab Calloway\, the NY Philharmonic\, and is a touring pianist with the legendary Soprano\, Kathleen Battle. These three world-class musicians will be joined by the Edwards Church Choir and will perform an evening of spectacular music which should not be missed (including a premiere by church member Dave Haughey).
