SUMMARY:Festival of Lessons and Carols
DESCRIPTION:The Edwards Church choir will present its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols service on Sunday\, December 22 at 10am. This beautiful worship service combines readings from the King James Version of the Bible with carols and anthems sung by both the choir and the congregation. The Lessons and Carols format was begun in 1880 at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall\, England\, and it has continued since 1918 at King’s College\, Cambridge.\n\nOf particular interest in this year’s service is a new setting of “There is No Rose” by British composer Philip Stopford\, who has become a favorite of the Edwards Church Choir. Stopford is the Director of Music at Christ Church Bronxville\, outside of New York City.\n\nPlease join us in worship on Sunday\, December 22 for this beautiful and meaningful service.\n\nShare this:\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest

SUMMARY:Autumnal Equinox Labyrinth Walk
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to come celebrate the Autumnal Equinox and walk the Labyrinth on Monday\, September 23\, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Addis Hall.  The labyrinth is an ancient spiritual practice used by many faith and spiritual traditions.  This spiritual practice is a form of body prayer which offers inspiration\, guidance\, meditation\, contemplation\, relaxation\, clarification\, wholeness\, and healing for many.  The labyrinth is not a maze. The three basic stages to this contemplative walk are:  entering or walking into the labyrinth – a time to let go of distractions; centering – a time in the center to be still and silent to listen for God; exiting from the center – a time to gain direction\, comfort\, new energy – a time to move toward peace and a deeper relationship with the Divine. \n  \nShare this:\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest

SUMMARY:Compassion for Ourselves: A spiritual journey - Edwards Church Mindfulness Practice Group
DESCRIPTION:What would it be like to have a kinder\, gentler\, more spacious heart and mind?  And what if we were able to bring that kind of presence to the relationship we have with ourselves? \nMost of us find it easier to feel compassion for others than for ourselves.  But boundless compassion\, or true love\, comes from a self-compassionate heart\, not one that is guided by self-blame and judgment \nYou are invited to join us for a mindfulness group where we will explore skillful and healing ways to respond *to ourselves* when we encounter life’s inevitable painful experiences. \nIf you would like to attend\, please contact Linda Vincent or Deb Moore \nShare this:\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest

SUMMARY:THE ROAD HOME A SPIRITUAL PILGRIMAGE TO THE SOUTH with Kate Stevens
DESCRIPTION:THE ROAD HOME\nA SPIRITUAL PILGRIMAGE TO THE SOUTH\nwith Kate Stevens\nOctober 21 ~ 4-5:30 p.m. \nEdwards Church of Northampton \n297 Main Street \nNorthampton\, MA \n  \nThough this country prides itself on principles of democracy and justice for all\, in actuality the U.S. was founded on the practices of genocide and slavery. Stevens\, who recently undertook a three-month\, 6\,000 mile pilgrimage to the Southern states to better understand our racial history\, uses pictures and words to follow the history of Africans brought to this land by force—a history of slavery\, war\, racial violence\, segregation\, and now mass incarceration. This history\, while devastating\, is also a story of resistance and determination. Please join us\, and share in this conversation. SUMMARY:Labyrinth Walk
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to come and walk the Labyrinth on Sunday\, September 23\, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in Addis Hall. \nShare this:\n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest
