SUMMARY:Festival of Lessons and Carols
DESCRIPTION:The Edwards Church choir will present its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols service on Sunday\, December 22 at 10am. This beautiful worship service combines readings from the King James Version of the Bible with carols and anthems sung by both the choir and the congregation. The Lessons and Carols format was begun in 1880 at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall\, England\, and it has continued since 1918 at King’s College\, Cambridge.\n\nOf particular interest in this year’s service is a new setting of “There is No Rose” by British composer Philip Stopford\, who has become a favorite of the Edwards Church Choir. SUMMARY:Music at the Crossroads: 1200 Horsehairs
DESCRIPTION:Music at the Crossroads returns to Edwards Church after nearly two years with a concert by 1200 Horsehairs. In-person attendance is limited to 22 people. Masking and distancing are required. The concert will also be livestreamed. \n1200 Horsehairs is a band of four cellos playing popular and new music ranging from traditional to metal to modern original compositions. Its members\, Dave Haughey\, Pablo Issa\, Karl Knapp\, and Wayne Smith\, are internationally active cellists who have played with the likes of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra\, The Paul Winter Consort\, Eugene Friesen\, and the Moody Blues\, among others.
