SUMMARY:Festival of Lessons and Carols
DESCRIPTION:The Edwards Church choir will present its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols service on Sunday\, December 22 at 10am. This beautiful worship service combines readings from the King James Version of the Bible with carols and anthems sung by both the choir and the congregation. The Lessons and Carols format was begun in 1880 at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall\, England\, and it has continued since 1918 at King’s College\, Cambridge.\n\nOf particular interest in this year’s service is a new setting of “There is No Rose” by British composer Philip Stopford\, who has become a favorite of the Edwards Church Choir.
