Erin Dubois\, flute\, and Andrew D’Antonio\, piano\, will present a recital of contemporary chamber music by Arvo Pärt\, Olivier Messiaen\, John Ritchie\, and Viet Cuong. Dubois and D’Antonio began performing as a duo with a concert tour last year featuring new works for flute and piano\, including a performance at Edwards. Erin is a freelance flutist in the Boston area and teaches flute in Lowell\, MA and New Hampshire. Andrew is the organist at Faith United Church in Springfield\, and teaches piano at Bay Path University in Longmeadow and Community Music School of Springfield. The program includes the premiere of local composer Salvatore Macchia’s piece “From Concord\,” as well as commissions of new works by young and emerging composers Mara Penatzer and Ben Wylie. These pieces will be presented alongside the works of internationally acclaimed composers such as Olivier Messiaen and Salvatore Sciarrino. \nErin Dubois received a Master’s degree in flute performance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst\, studying with Christopher Krueger. She is frequently seen in performance throughout the area with the Precious Metals Flute Ensemble\, the Sterlina Duo\, and in a duo with her husband\, percussionist Kyle Dubois. \nAndrew D’Antonio teaches class piano and piano pedagogy at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a faculty member at the Community Music School of Springfield.
